WhatsApp, which is now being used by one billion people around the world every day is set to get a host of new features this year. The company in an attempt to woo over one billion WhatsApp users keep adding new features every year.
Last year, we saw WhatsApp adding features like Share your live location, Deleting Messages for Everyone, and WhatsApp Status among others. This year WhatsApp is set to bring more utility features to its messaging platform. Notably, some of these features have already started showing up for some users in beta version of Android version and are being tested out with select users.
The new switch option is visible to Android beta users on WhatsApp. The new feature could be a very interesting one considering it lets you switch to video call without the need of cutting the voice call first. Currently, WhatsApp for Android users running version 2.18.4 will be able to see video call switch button. The new button shows up towards the bottom of the voice call screen.
It's worth noting that the one switch button will work only when both the called and receiver are running the latest WhatsApp version. All users should start seeing the switch button with a future WhatsApp app update.
